I have been itching to write about this for a long time . Especially because I have to repeat this everyday at my gym . Today most people refer to being fit as body sculpting , which means going to the gym for hours and getting a huge bicep , washboard abs , perfect shoulders , bigger thighs ! You see the Goal here is not fitness its bigger muscles and body sculpting . Most people who build muscle do not do cardio everyday for the fear of loosing muscle mass. Body building probably is the only sport ( i don’t know why they even call it that ) which is unhealthy … With the hours of weight training , Whey powders , steriods … Thats the same as skinny women on the ramp. Its time men start to understand that these bodies aren’t normal. Ofcourse you can have 16 inch biceps through pull ups push ups a little weight training . Not the kind which has rippling muscle and 6 pack abs ! Gym has nothing to do with being healthy you see. I say that with my own experience . I was an avid gym rat for more than 20 years ( although i never did heavy weights , instead always maintained push ups , pull-ups and sit ups which increases body strength more than weights . Then 5 years ago I realized that this is not healthy so I moved on to Yoga ( surya namaskar / sun salutations ) for half an hour , walking for 45 mins -1 hour , 10 mins run and 10 – 15 mins of gym . Thats what I do everyday twice a day . In the morning I do the short jog and the Yoga , in the evening its the walk and gym. I definitely am fitter and healthier than before , also since I never used any of these strange powders people have today my body feels so much better , is more flexible and healthier than any of my friends . In fact healthier than the gym rats .
You see the heart is a muscle and can get affected by heavy weight training , if you lift more than half your body weight it affects your aorta ( main artery ) and causes a tear in your aorta . This keeps happening over time till the heart gives way . Not just that when you lift weights the muscle actually tears and repairs itself . Over a period of time the muscles are permanently damaged and cannot be repaired .

He was at his competitive peak in his early-30s, when “mass monsters” dominated bodybuilding, and he claimed to eat up to seven pounds of red meat per day at his biggest.
But in the years prior to his drastic physical decline, Matarazzo was one of the few pros who talked openly about what he felt was the underlying cause – the level of anabolic steroids and related drugs necessary to become a top-ranked pro.
Matarazzo’s public callout of the negative effects of drug use may sound far fetched to some, but there’s anecdotal and scientific evidence to support his belief.
It’s an undeniable fact that numerous top-level bodybuilders have died from some variation of “natural causes” – often a heart attack or some form of organ failure – before they hit 40 years old.
A handful never even saw 35. Some top pros almost reach 50, but even less get to 55 without a major health scare. Try to find a dozen healthy IFBB pros who successfully competed in the ’90s. You won’t have much luck.
Need I say more ? Those big muscle guys you see or even the not so big are mostly unnatural unhealthy and sick !!! Over and above that they have a very skewed idea about food … Too much protein , less or no carbs , all kinds of chemicals in the form of muscle enhancers . Its unbelievable . The solution — Do short runs ( 50 steps every 5 mins ) and walks twice everyday for 45 mins . Climb stairs maybe a 30 story building ( improves heart health and reduces the tummy drastically ) . Do Yoga everyday ( sun salutations 24 to 36 ( improves heart health , liver , kidneys , lung , pancreas and all internal organs ) . Will tone your body through the stretches and keeps the natural V shape . Will keep your tummy flat . Improves the consciousness keeping you calm . Removes all bad thoughts and opens the third eye ! Regular Push ups and Pull ups , parallel bars , sit ups ( 50 to 100 each ) . Do a mix of all of this regularly . The see your body grow and yet be healthy . Don’t forget to have a balanced diet . You can go through some of my articles on food and diet . Kindly stay away from protein rich foods and chemicals … they ruin your kidneys .
So let me repeat here Guys please turn to something better . Hit the gym for Push ups , pull ups and sit ups . A little bit of a few machines and light weights if you want . Heavy weights will only destroy your body . Please stay away from those recommended powders , steroids etc unless you want to die young . Do 30 to 40 pull ups , 100 push ups and 50 sit ups everyday . Climb staircases everyday for a slimmer waist , sexy legs and heart health . Your Body would Grow and it would be sustainable . Also please note that all these powders can cause severe damage to your organs and you could also become infertile . Your muscle mass wont go down once you don’t go the gym for a month or two.if you fix a regime I mentioned here … Include yoga and walking to your routine , if you love to run , run everyday but not more than a Kilometer. Have fun .
